" The 8th in the Evening two young Indian Men arrived with a mefsage from a Southward Indian Chief that he wished to see me at his Tent. the day following I accordingly accompanied them taking with me two Men with some few things of Trading Goods. after 10 hours hard travelling we arrived at their Tents. I no sooner came to them than they brought near 300 Beaver part of them in Credit & part as presents, we remained there that night. in the Morning after making them suitable returns Left them and returned two days after to the House---The Canadians accompanied us but to very little purpose. They were told by the Natives they were not sent for therefore it was in vain for them to expect anything."

After the last one I thought the next month might be interesting. It wasn't really.
