Sept. 11 1791
" Sunday Wind Northwest a fresh breeze with clear Weather received fifteen Geese from Indians - Thermometer from +32 to +40"

Sept. 12
" Monday Wind North West a fresh breeze with clear weather. George Charles went to Twelve mile point to superintend during the time of Geese flying. John Johnston and Thomas Linklater to Cook &c and four men to carry Powder &c for serving out to Indians that are killing Geese, sent six Men acrofs the River and two up the River to procure Geese, Fish &c. Capt. Duncan and his Crew at work on board the Brig. Factory Men employed at various Jobs. Rec'd 5 Geese and 4 Ducks. Thermometer from +50 to 54 with rain in the Evening."

Sept. 13
" Tuesday Wind North west with a little Snow. Thermometer from +40 to 48. Sent three Men up along this side of the river to hunt, expecting we shall have not only the Brig to supply in the spring but some addition to give when she returns from the Northward."

Sept. 14
" Wednesday Wind S.West with cloudy weather. fourteen Men hunting and fishing. Sloopers and Nicholas Garson at work on board, remainder sawing and splitting wood for winter firing, making a Coal Shed &c. Thermometer from +48 to 52"

Sept. 15
" Thursday A fresh breeze of wind at NWest with rain. Thermometer from +45 to 50. four northern Indians brought 174 lbs of Venison and 14 Geese."

Sept. 16
" Friday A fresh breeze of Wind at S.East Thermometer from +48 to 50. Brigers employed on board, fourteen Men at hunting tents. Armourer &c making Iron work for the Brig. remainder otherwise employed. Rec'd from Englishmen and Indians 12 Geese 70 Ducks 1 Swan & 44 Fish."

Sept. 17
" Saturday Wind S.West with clear agreeable weather Thermometer from 53+ to 54 sent seven Men with a boat to Twelve mile point with Salt, Shot &c received this day from a Northward Indian 112 lbs of Venison and 6 Geese from an Englishman."

Sept. 18
" Sunday Wind N.East a very strong gale with heavy rain. Thermometer from +40 to 45. major part of Officers and men that are at the Factory being employed preventing the Brig from being damaged. defer'd? Divine Service. Men sent yesterday to Twelve mile point with a Boat arrived by land. Wind and Weather being so unfavouable they were obliged to leave the boat and fifty Geese five miles from the Factory."

Sept. 19
" Monday Wind North a strong gale with rain, frost and Snow. Thermometer from 30+ to 34. Taylor and his afsistant making trading Cloaths. Armourer repairing Guns, Capt. Duncan and his Crew on Board securing the Brig from getting any damage. twelve Men hunting and fishing remainder grinding Oat Grots &c."

" Thursday Wind S.West Thermometer from +28 to 38. seven men sent with a Boat to Twelve mile point for Geese returned with 163. John Johnston brought 14 Geese and Fishermen brought 44 Pike fish."

Sept. 23
" Friday Wind East with over cast Sky. Thermometer from +40 to 42. Rec'd from four Northern Indians this day 37 Geese 13 Ducks and 126 lbs of Venison."

Sept. 24
" Saturday Wind S.West with clear weather Thermometer from +35 to 50. Northward and Southward Indians came to get payment for the Geese they killed at Twelve mile point."

Sept. 25
" Sunday Wind South with pleasant weather Thermometer from +60 to 70"

Sept. 26
" Monday Wind S West with rain the latter part of the day. Thermometer from +60 to 70. five Men sent to Twelve mile point this Morning for the remains of Ammunition &c returned in the Evening. paid Northward and Southward Indians for the Geese they killed and entrusted Northward Indians with Trading Goods to enable them to maintain themselves and families and bring furrs here next year."

" Tuesday Wind N.West with rain in the Afternoon. 12 Men sent this morning with eleven weeks provisions for eight men that are going soon acrofs the River to hew down fire wood. Thermometer from +45 to 50. people sent away in the morning return'd in the Evening."

A Northward Indian leader and some of his followers that came here last June and stayed to see the Ship went away this day. NB. They went so far from the Factory to procure provisions that they lost sight of the Ship."

This Morning an Indian boy brought word that an aged Woman that went from here yesterday evening in company with a young Woman to go to their Tent three miles from here was lying near a large Stone a mile from hence almost froze to death. two men with Sleds went as fast as pofsible to bring her here. they had not arrived half an hour before she expired."

" Saturday Wind NW with overcast Sky Thermometer from - 5 to 10. A Sawyer and a Wooder came for provisions."

" Sunday Wind and Weather as yesterday. Thermometer from - 4 to 2. George Charles came from the Northward without any Partridges. I have only received 12 Partridges since Christmafs from ten Men on that duty. Mr Auld went to the Sawyers tent for a few days."

" Monday Wind NW overcast Sky with thick rime. thirty four Men on duty from the Factory. remainder at various Jobs at the Factory. Thermometer from - 4 to 10."

Jan. 17
" Tuesday Wind NW with clear weather. Thermometer from - 19 to 15. Indians came for Oatmeal and say they cannot with their utmost afsiduity procure provisions to subsist on. Indeed this winter has been so far the most remarkable ever known for scarcity of provisions for neither Englishmen or Indians can find any thing to kill."

Captain Duncan and his Crew went with the Brig to the Sloops cove to Careen her. A Nd Indian Man brought 66 lbs of Venison. In the Evening Wind and Weather proved so unfavourable that the Men were obliged to return home with the Boats."
