" Wednesday Wind NE Clear warm weather. I set of this morning from Osnaburgh House at 7 Oclock with one Battauex and two Canoes got a bout 26 miles up the Lake and put up at 5 O,Clock the two Canoes very Leaky."

Aug. 7
" Thursday Wind and weather as yesterday. Set of this morn'g at 1/2 past 5 O,clock came to a small fal in the mouth of Cat Lake river put up at 5 O,Clock got a bout 26 miles this day."

Aug. 8
" Friday Wind and Weather as before. Set of this morning at half past 5 0,clock came to a pretty large fall unload the Battauex and carried the goods. got the Battauex up by water. this Carrieng place is about 300 yds long on the North side of the river. got a bout 15 miles this day and put up at half past 5 O,Clock."

Aug. 9
" Saturday Wind NW Clear warm Weather. Set of this Morning at 6 O,clock went about 5 Miles Came to a long fall about one mile long Carried the goods twise but got the Battauex up by water. the first Carrieng place is a bout 100 yds the Second about 1/4 of a mile both on the NE side of the river. got a bout two miles a bove this fall came to another. Carried about 40 yds on the south side of the river. got about 5 miles a bove this fall and put up at 5 O,clock got a bout 13 miles this day."

Aug. 10
" Sunday Wind and Weather as yesterday. set of this morning at 6 O.Clock came to a fall Carried the goods a bout 40 yds on the SW side of the river. a bout 6 miles above this Came to another very bad fall had the Battauex to Launch over a rock in the middle of it got hir up the rest of it by water. With a good deal of danger got up to the path a bout 6 O.clock in the Evening. got a bout 16 Miles this day."

Aug. 11
" Monday Wind and Weather as yesterday. began this morning as half past 5 O.Clock to Carry the goods got all over at half past 6 O.Clock went a bout 10 Miles Came to an Other fall. Carried the goods but got the Battauex up by Water. about half a mile a bove this fall Came an Other. Carried the goods but got the Battauex up by Water. put up at 6 O.Clock.

Aug. 12
" Tuesday Wind and Weather as before. Set of this Morning at 6 O.Clock Came to a fine large Lake Called gull Lake. Came up it about 6 Miles had the Battauex to launch over a neck of land a bout 10 yds. Came up the Lake about 9 Miles Came to a very long fall Carried the goods about half Over and got the Battauex up to the Same place put up at half past 5 O.Clock got about 16 Miles this day. the Carrieng place is on the South side of the river."

Aug. 13
" Wednesday Wind and Weather as before. Set of this morning at 6 O.Clock Came up a bout 200 yds Came to another fall Carried the goods but had the Battauex to Launch over a rock a bout the lenth of hir Self. both these Carrieng placeses is on the South Side of the river. we went a bout 15 yds on the East Side of the river got the Battauex up by Water Came up little Cat Lake a bout 3 Miles. there was two tents of Indians a bout 20 in number they saluted Me With 10 guns I returned the Compliment With a 11 guns. I went ashore to their Tents they made me a present of 40 lb of Venison and 6 lb of fatt. I trade 40 Beaver of furs from them. gave to the two Captans 4 Gallons of Brandy and three yds of Tobacco. got up to the fall at the head of little Cat Lake and put up at 6 O.Clock got a bout 20 Miles this day."
