Sept. 21 1794
" Sunday Wind W. Cloudy cold Weather With Snow.
I set off from red Lake at 10 oClock With two Big Canoes and one Indian Canoe for our guide to the Weanipeck. the Second day I met with a gang of Indians at the Carrieng place at the head of the Lake. I got the flesh of three deer from them. the third day we pafsed the hight of land and had the Current along with us. got to Bad Lake the 10 day we had 27 Carrieng places.-"

Oct. 1
" Set off from bad Lake this morning went on untill? the 8th met with a gang of Indians got some Venison from them and a few furs"

Oct. 9
" Continued our rout about 6 Miles. Came to a gang of Indians they had kild a good many Moose I might have had more flesh from them than I could carry. I Traded as Much as I could Carry and I set off again went a bout 10 Miles below and put up at 6 Oclock.-"

Oct. 12
" Set off this Morning at 5 Oclock Came to two tents of Indians I got a few furs from them and set off again. Continued our rout untill the 15th. got to the French house at the side of the Weanipeck. from Bad Lake to the Weanipeck there is 50 Carrieng places.and from red Lake to Bad Lake there is 27 Carrieng places. Total 77 Carrieng places"
