Sept 17 1779
" Friday light Airs So:erly and SW fine weather. early this Morning Capt. Richards took his departure in the Eastmain, discharged Mr Ch. Cramer Surgeon & Thomas Flowerdew Watlington writer. it being almost Calm were oblig'd to tow the Sloop with 3 Boats a Head. 10 Geese to Day."

Sept. 18
" Saturday light Airs and variable clear and warm. the People hauling the Seine and stowing by the Cargo &c. traded a black bear."

Sept. 19
" Sunday Wind and Weather as Yesterday. the Men packing Henley and Gloucester Cargoes. the Indians came in with Geese. Gave the Men Brandy."

Sept. 20
" Monday Southerly Winds and fine weather. sent John Hodgson and David Spence to the North River to serve out Powder and Shot and salt Geese. the rest of the Men as Yesterday. Traded 350 Fish."

Sept. 21
" Tuesday Wind and weather as Yesterday. Men employed as Yesterday. saw a Sloop in the Offing sent a Boat to afsist her. towards Evening the Moose Sloop arriv'd, received Mr John McNab Surgeon. 30 Geese to Day."

Sept. 22
" Wednesday Winds NW and East. unloaded the Sloop and stoned her."

Sept. 23
" Thursday Wind variable in the Northern Quarter. the Men stowing by the Cargo, traded 400 Fish and a large Seal. The Moose Sloop sailed. 20 Geese from the Hunters."

Sept. 24
" Friday Southerly Winds and moderate Weather. 7 Men hauling the Seine, only got a few Fish; the rest packing &c."

Sept. 25
" Saturday Southerly SE Winds & fine weather. the Eastmain Sloop arrived with the remainder of the Cargo, unloaded a part. Capt. Afsup and his Gang came and brought some Venison and Shoe Leather. Traded 190 Fish, a few Geese."

Sept. 26
" Sunday Light Airs and variable clear moderate weather. unloaded the remains of the Cargo and stoned the Sloop. gave the Indians of Yesterday Debt and they went away."

Sept. 27
" Monday Westerly Winds weather clear and warm. the People employed getting the Goods packed for the? three Subordinate Settlements and loading the Sloop."

Sept. 28
" Tuesday Wind and weather as Yesterday. 18 Men getting ready to go to Henley, part Sloopers and part Factory Men hauling the Seine, only got about 30 Fish; the rest variously employed. recev'd 10 Geese."

Sept. 29
" Wednesday Westerly Winds heavy Rain in the Morning afterwards a fine Day. this Morning the following Men Viz. James Smith, John Robinson, Peter Johnson, John Spence, Thomas Dickson, David Sanderson, Robt Flatt, Magnus Backie, James Rowland, Charles Stensgar, Robt Isbister, Nichol Spence, And Backie, Wm Rich, John Rich, Jenkin Daniel and Robt Lena, set off in two Boat with the Cargoe for Henley and Gloucester the rest cutting Wood &c. received 40 Geese."

Sept. 30
" Thursday Southerly Winds frosty Morning afterwards fine weather a little mizling Rain in the Afternoon; about Noon Mr Thomas Atkinson Mas. at Henley House and Mr John Kipling Mas. at Gloucester House, with 10 Indians and 6 Canoes set off for Henley. Towards Evening the East Main Sloop sailed, got only to the X Bar."

" Friday SW Wind fine clear weather 6 AM the Eastmain Sloop weigh'd, got under way from the Crofs Bar, the People taking up the Launch. there are only 3 Hhds of Geese salted at Bonds Creek."

" Tuesday Wind variable Easterly. 5 Men in a Boat taking up the Buoys, 2 hunting, myself and the other two busy in the Warehouse. John Hodgson came for a supply of Powder Flints &c and went away again. he has only 10 Casks of Geese and I have not one in the Fort. received 63 from Indians."

Oct. 6
" Wednesday Wind westerly clear pleasant weather. Armourer repairing Indians Guns. Shipwright and one Man setting up Stockades, Linklater in the Surgeons List, 1 Cooking. received 130 Geese and 500 Fish from Indians."

Oct. 7
" Thursday Wind SE clear fine weather. Armourer and Linklater in the sick List. Shipwright and Mate making a Crab to heave the Boat up, the rest as before. several Indians came in ? Debt having left off hunting. received 200 Fish and traded a Seal and 24 Geese."

Oct. 8
" Friday Wind South cloudy mild weather. the Men employed as Yesterday."

Oct. 9
" Saturday Wind WSW blows hard cloudy weather. the Men employed as before. received 50 Geese. more Indians left of hunting and took Debt. Gave the Men Brandy."

Oct. 11
" Monday Wind SE clear fine weather. Armourer repairing Indians Guns. Shipwright making a Crab. 2 brewing 1 Cooking, Linklater at the Gates. Myself and Mr Favell busy with Indians many of whom took Debt and had left off hunting. received 60 Geese."

" Tuesday Wind westerly clear pleasant weather. Shipwright and Mate making a Crab. the rest as before.several of the Indians went off to their winter Quarters the Remainder drunk. Received 100 Fish from Indians."

Oct. 13
" Wednesday Wind Southerly clear weather. Armourer and Man making Iron work for the Crab. the rest as before. Trusted 3 Indians and sent them away."

Oct. 14
" Thursday Wind and weather as Yesterday. People at home setting up the Crab. an Indian came in for Debt and went off for his Winters Quarters. received 50 Tickomeg."

Oct. 15
" Friday Wind and weather as on Wednesday. Shipwright and Mate securing the Boat. Armourer cleaning Guns. 1 sick. 1 digging Potatoes. Cook & Cowkeeper as usual. received 386 Tickomeg."

Oct. 16
" Saturday Wind west with Rain Cloudy weather. the People at home cutting Wood and taking up Garden stuff. received 100 Fish."

" Sunday Wind SW cloudy weather with Hail and Snow. Divine Service as usual gave the Men Brandy."

" Monday Wind westerly sharp weather with Snow. the Men at Home getting part of the Boats up the Bank. an Indian came in with 40 Geese & took Debt. received 300 Fish."

Oct. 19
" Tuesday Wind variable sharp frosty weather. Armourer repairing Guns, 2 Sick. Shipwright and the rest preparing a place to set a new Boat upon the Stocks. the Boats returned from Henley all well there. Mr Kipling and his People set off for Gloucester last Saturday, Andrew Lena and William Spence came down in the Room of Robt Lena the Smith and Jenkin Daniel who stays at Henley. Jn Best (who is a Supernumerary there & should have returned in lieu of Mr Atkinson) stays untill the Christmas Packet to afsist the newly appointed Master. Received 100 Fish. gave all Hands Brandy."

" Wednesday Wind variable easterly clear pleasant weather hard frost last Night. Henley Men resting themselves, the others as Yesterday. received 15 Geese from an Indian."

Oct. 21
" Thursday Wind SE blowing fresh with Cloudy weather and Rain. sent 9 Men to Bonds Creek to bring home Geese, and carry empty Casks & Salt for the Spring. 7 Men hauling the Seine without succefs. Shipwright and Mate laying the Keel of a Boat. Armourer and Man at the Forge, Cooks and Cowkeeper as usual. Linklater in the Surgeons List."

Oct. 22
" Friday Wind SE with Cloudy rainy weather. 1 Man at the Gates. 4 taking up Turnips &c, the rest as Yesterday; in the Afternoon the Boat returned from Bonds Creek with Geese & the remains of Ammunition the? last of the hunting Indians left off and came in for Debt. Traded 400 Fish and 56 Geese."

" Saturday Wind Southerly with cloudy weather. the People employed getting the Henley Boats up the Bank. an Indian came in with a few Quills & Feathers. gave the People Brandy."

Oct. 24
" Sunday Wind west blows hard cloudy raw weather. divine Service as usual."

Oct. 25
" Monday Wind westerly mizling Rain at times. 9 Men hauling the Seine, 2 at the Pit Saw, Armourer making Dogs for Sawyers, Taylor working for Mr Favell, who with 2 Men are preparing to go to Canoes Rivers. 2 Cooking, 2 Sick, 1 helving falling Axes. Shipwright and Mate as usual. 1 writing. Moad putting up Provisions for Hunters. the Indians went away. receiv'd about 1000 Fish (but very small) from the Seine Net, hoisted the Flag and gave the Men Brandy to drink a long and happy Reign to his Majesty."

" Tuesday Wind southerly clear pleasant weather. sent Mr Favell, John Spence & Charles Stensger to procure Furrs and Provisions at Canoes Rivers. 7 Men afsisting in carrying his Things, 3 Men carrying Limestones up the Bank the rest as before. 50 Fish from Indian Women."

Oct. 27
" Wednesday Wind SE clear pleasant weather. Armourer filing up work. Taylor, Shipwright and Mate, Cooks, Cowkeeper, and writer as before. 1 sick. 2 at the Pit Saw. 7 Men hauling the Seine but without any succefs. 7 Men returned from afsisting Mr Favell."

Oct. 28
" Thursday Wind SW clear weather. 3 Men grinding Oatmeal, 4 carrying Limestones up the Bank, 5 taking up Boats Moorings, the rest as before."

Oct. 29
" Friday Wind SW clear mild weather. Cooper drefsing Staves for Sleds, 7 hauling the Seine, 1 repairing Netts, the rest as on Wednesday, great succefs with the Seine. Towards Evening 2 Indians came from Moose River with Letters from thence, York Fort & Severn, the Severn Sloop with Mr Phillip Turnor arrived at Moose the 20 Inst. It gives us much uneasinefs to find the York Fort Ship was not arrived the 16th Sept. as Capt Richards came to Moose Roads the 8th but imagind the Northward Ships have this Year fallen in with the Ice that usually has retarded the Bay Ship."

Oct. 30
" Saturday Wind westerly clear fine weather. Men employed as Yesterday. great succefs with the Seine having Caught near 2 Jolly Boat Loads of Fish, so that if it should freeze to preserve them fresh it will be a great Blefsing. Dispatched the Moose Indians away and as Mr Jarvis is ill I have sent Mr McNab to his Afsistance together with Hugh Linklater that he may still have the Surgeons Afsistance to his hand which is mending apace. Gave the Men Brandy."

" Monday Wind Northerly clear sharp weather. Armourer stocking a Gun. Shipwright and Mate on the new Boat, Sawyer and Mate cutting Timbers for Do. Taylor working for the Men. Cooper trimming Staves for Sleds. 11 Men hauling the Seine and fetching Fish. Cooks & Cowkeeper as usual. 1 writing. 2 Boat Loads of Fish from the Seine Net."

Nov. 2
" Tuesday Wind NW cloudy cold weather with Snow. 2 Men brewing. Cooper turning Heads for Sleds. 2 Sawying. Cooks & Cowkeeper as usual. 1 Sick. Shipwright and Mate with the Armourer laying the Keel of a new Henley Boat, the rest carrying Stones up the Bank for building the Magazine in the Spring."

Nov. 3
" Wednesday Wind Northerly clear sharp weather. 2 preparing to go Chickney, 2 grinding falling Axes, the rest as Yesterday. An Indian Woman and her Son brought a Letter from John Best (late locum tenens at Henley) informing me of the ill state of Affairs there through Mr Atkinsons sad propensity to drinking, and that himself had nearly been drowned by oversetting his Canoe in endeavouring to save Mr Atkinson. who quarrlling with an Indian Woman (with whom he had Cohabited) in a Canoe, it overturned, and the Woman and her Child were lost, and Mr Atkinson with much difficulty got on Shore, for as Best was afsisting him, he caught hold of his (Bests) Canoe and overset it also."

Nov. 4
" Thursday Wind SW cloudy mild weather. 8 Men getting the frozen Fish into the Sheds. tradesmen as before the rest cutting firewood. The River full of Ice."

Nov. 5
" Friday Wind and weather as Yesterday. finding the River clear of Ice during the latter part of Ebb, I dispatched 9 Men to the Wood to sprig and collect next Winters firewood up Yarrows Creek, John Hodgson & James Rowland to hunt and trap at Chickney but the Ice being fast up the River they were obliged to return. sent 2 Men with a Letter to Mr Favell at Canoes Rivers to know whether he could set of directly to supersede Mr Thomas Atkinson in the Command at Henley, as the best measure I could devise to prevent the Company's Affairs there being neglected. the People at home making a Bonefire, hoisted the Flag & gave all hands Brandy to drink to the Prosperity of our King and Country."

Nov. 6
" Saturday Wind variable cloudy weather with a little Snow. People at home taking up Cabbages and cleaning Cabbins. the Men returned from Mr Favell who thinks it impracticable at this time to get up to Henley before the River is froze over. two of his Men came home to Bake Bread."

Nov. 7
" Sunday Wind NW fair weather divine Service as usual. Mr Favells Men returned to his Tent, gave the Men Brandy."

Nov. 8
" Monday Wind Southerly cloudy weather much Snow. Armourer stocking Guns. Shipwright and Mate Boat building. Taylor working for the Men. Cooper making Sleds. Cook and Cowkeeper as usual. the others packing Feathers and clearing the Warehouse."

Nov. 9
" Tuesday Wind North blows hard with much Snow and drift. tradesmen as Yesterday. Labourers packing Feathers and other indoor Work."

" Saturday Wind SE mild cloudy weather. Labourers splitting fire Wood. the rest as before. gave the Men Brandy the North Channel froze over."

" Sunday Wind variable Northerly mild weather with a little snow. divine Service as usual."

" Monday Wind NW cloudy mild weather. 9 Men at the Woods. 3 hunting. 4 on the Gloucester Journey. 2 at Moose. Cook and Cowkeeper as usual. 1 writing. Taylor working for the Men. " Friday Wind SE cloudy weather with much Snow. Labourers grinding Oatmeal, the rest as before."

Nov. 20
" Saturday Wind Southerly with Snow. Tradesmen as before. Labourers splitting firewood. An Indian came with 33 Martins and 20 Rabbits."

Nov. 21
" Sunday Wind variable with small Snow. divine Service as usual. one of Mr Favell's Men came opposite the Fort but as the River is not yet fast, he went up to the Wooders Tent. gave the Men Brandy."

Nov. 22
" Monday Wind NW with cloudy weather and Snow. Armourer cleaning hunting Guns. Shipwright Boat building. Taylor working for the Men. Hodgson writing. Cooper making Sleds. 2 brewing. Cook and Cowkeeper as usual. 9 at the Woods. 3 hunting. 4 on the Gloucester Journey. 2 at Moose River, the rest splitting firewood. John Spence came home from Mr Favell to see if the River was fast enough for him to proceed to Henley to take upon him the Command there, in Consequence of the Inteligence receiv'd the 3d Inst. Spence did not set off on his return to the tent as the weather was bad."

" Tuesday Wind westerly sharp drifting weather. Men employed as before. Spence set off to return to Mr Favells Tent."

Nov. 24
" Wednesday Wind Westerly clear sharp weather. the River froze over. 2 Men cutting a Watering hole the rest as before."

Nov. 25
" Thursday Wind west clear pleasant weather. 4 Men cutting firewood the rest as on Monday. sent John Hodghson and James Rowland to Chickney to procure Provisions and Furrs. in the Evening David Sanderson and Andrew Corrigal came down from Henley and Gloucester with Letters. Mr Kipling was very ill when they came away, owing to the hardships and fatigue of his Journey. every thing in order there and about 200 made Beaver in the House. Geo. Sutherland arrived at Gloucester on the Journey Inland the 25th Aug. in good Spirits. No particular News from Henley to make any alteration in my determination of the 5th Inst. part of the Men on the Gloucester Journey are not yet arrived, as they were obliged to walk all the way down, the Lakes being froze over and much Ice in the Rivers; I hope they are safe: It is a great Pity the want of Provisions obliged me to wait the Ships arrival before I could send off the Goods to Gloucester."

Nov. 26
" Friday Wind variable southerly cloudy mild weather with Snow in the Evening. sent Will Spence to stay at Canoes Rivers & Peter Johnstone to afsist Mr Favell in coming home. the Indians of Saturday went away; and another Indian came in with about 15 made Beaver to purchase Powder and beg some Provisions for a large Family of children."

Nov. 27
" Saturday Wind variable cloudy mild weather. 2 Men opening the Waterhole the rest as before. The Wooders came home to bake Bread. receiv'd 23 Martins from Jn Robinson and 13 from Tho Flatt. Mr Favell and John Spence came home also with 42 Martins & 32 Rabbits."

Nov. 28
" Sunday Wind Northerly with Snow & Drift. divine Service as usual. Wooders returned to their Tents."

Nov. 29
" Monday Wind NW sharp hazy weather with Snow. 9 Men at the Woods. 4 hunting. 2 upon Gloucester Journey. 1 at Henley. 2 at Moose. Armourer repairing Indians Guns and Kettles. Shipwright and Mate and Cooper making Snow Shoe Frames. Taylor working for the Men. Cook and Cowkeeper as usual 2 preparing to accompany Mr Favell to Henley. 2 splitting firewood. Two young Indians came in with a pretty parcel of Martins and to beg some Oatmeal for several Families who are ill or have met with Accidents, one has broke a Leg, another wounded in the Thigh, and 4 others ill with internal disorders."

Nov. 30
" Tuesday Wind westerly cloudy mild weather. sent Mr Favell to Henley to resume the Command there and John Spence and Peter Johnstone to attend him, the rest as before. myself accompanied Mr Favell part of the Way and turn'd off to see how the Men came on with gathering firewood."

" Wednesday Wind SW clear fine weather. the Men employed as before except 2 brewing."

Dec. 2
" Thursday Wind Southerly cloudy weather with some Snow. 2 Men splitting firewood the rest as on Monday. one of the Indians of Monday went away with some Oatmeal to their Families, the other being obliged to remain here by sicknefs being unable to stand and much lefs travel. they brought 226 Martins as payment of part of their Debt."

" Saturday Wind Westerly clear sharp weather. 2 Men opening the water hole. 2 splitting firewood the rest as before. Wooders came home to bake Bread. received 1 Martin from them."

Dec. 5
" Sunday Wind and weather as Yesterday. sent David Sanderson and an Indian with Letters to Moose Fort. some of the Men hunting after Partridges. found a Calf almost froze to Death, and soon after fell in with the whole Herd, and were all fortunately got into the Fort in the Evening."

" Monday Wind WbS clear sharp weather. 9 Men at the Woods, 5 gone to Henly and Gloucester, 3 do. Moose Fort. 4 hunting & trapping. Armourer and one Man repairing Steel traps. Cooper making Sleds. " Monday Wind NW blows hard with Drift cold weather. sent 2 Men to bring home the tenting from Canoes Rivers. 9 at the Woods. 3 at Moose. 5 gone to Henley & Gloucester. 2 hunting and trapping at Chickney. Armourer at the Forge. Shipwright Boat building. Taylor working for the Men. Cooper planeing Staves for Sleds. 1 Sick. Cooks and Cowkeeper as usual. 2 splitting firewood."

Dec. 14
" Tuesday Wind WNW very sharp rimy weather. 2 Men brewing the rest as Yesterday. Jn Rich the Cowkeeper had the misfortune to break the small Bone of his Leg by slipping down of the Haystack. Tho Flatt one of the Men on the Gloucester Journey came down from Henley, he says Mr Favell will get there tomorrow."

" Wednesday Wind WSW sharp weather with drift. 2 Sick. Flat resting himself, the rest as before."

" Thursday Wind SSW clear pleasant weather myself with one Man went up to the Wooders and returned, the Men return'd from Canoes Rivers with the tentin & 3 Martins, rest as before."

Dec. 17
" Friday Wind variable clear mild weather. 3 Men sick. 1 grinding Oatmeal. 4 splitting firewood the rest as before. 2 Indians and their Families came in almost starved they brought only 2 Martins nd 1 Beaver, their whole attention being engaged to procure Provisions for their support instead of trapping Furrs."

" Saturday Wind Northerly clear weather. 2 Men opening the Waterhole. 2 splitting firewood. the rest as before. Wooders brought home their bedding as did also John Hodgson and Rowland from whom I received 1 red Fox and 17 Martins with 12 Rabbits and a few Partridges."

Dec. 20
" Monday Wind NW with Snow and drifting weather. Armourer at the Forge. Shipwright caulking Doors and Windows, Cooper sharpening Saws, Taylor working for the Men, 3 Sick, 1 repairing partridge Netts, 2 making Poles for do. Hodgson writing. Cooks and Cowkeeper as usual. the rest in the splitting Yard."

" Thursday Wind Southerly cloudy weather with Snow. 3 Men washing the Chiefs Appartments, Tradesmen as before. Labourers splitting Firewood and grinding Oatmeal. " Saturday Wind NNE clear cold raw weather 2 Men opening the Waterhole the rest as Yesterday. several Indians came in with their Families to hunt but very poorly gooded. one of them brought a Letter from Mr Jarvis, all well at Moose, but distrefsed for Victuals like Albany, so that neither can afsist the other, I have but 36 Days Provision in the Place for the Men now in the Fort, without a Morcel left in the Place for Henley & Gloucester; and without a supply sent thither these Settlements must fall to the Ground to the utter Ruin of the Trade. It is an alarming situation both on Account of Interest and Humanity. I have 135 Indians to feed daily until the Geese come and 'tis with much reluctance they agree to stay here starving to hunt for the Fort, when they could perhaps live very well hunting at a Distance from hence."

" Sunday Wind Southerly hazy weather. early in the Morning two Indians brought a Letter from John Robinson informing me the Boats got last Night round the Head of the Island, that the water is extremely low, and one of the Boats received much damage. sent the Shipwright and 4 Men to repair her, they returned late at Night, the expecting the Journey will be long, requests a further supply of Provisions, but it is out of my power to send any, as I have but one Cask of Pork and 1 3/4 of Geese in the Place. " Thursday Wind SE clear weather. tradesmen as before. 1 sick the rest variously employed. the Uplanders of Monday went away. they are the worst Indians to please I ever knew; tho' I gave them 10 Gal. of Brandy besides other Presents they departed without being satisfied. but as the Tribe bring about 500 Beaver Annually and are adjacent to the Canadian Settlements I try hard to keep them in the Companys Interest. 2 of the Indians engaged in the Henley Boats came back with a melancholy Acct. of no Water in the River, 2 of the Boats stove, and that they have not yet got above 6 Miles from the Fort. desired Mr Phillip Turnor to take 3 Men, and examine into it, and if necefsary to send 1/3 of the Cargo back, no luck from our Netts."

June 2
" Friday Wind variable with Rain in the Afternoon. late last Night Mr Turnor came back having met And. Corrigal who brought a Letter from Jn. Robinson informing me the Boats had got to the Foot of the great Fall (about 12 Miles off) 2 of the Boats stove, the water very low insomuch that they walk acrofs the River only knee deep, and the 4 Indians engaged for that Service had left them - This Morning dispatched And. Corrigal with Hugh Linklater, Adam Mouat, And. Lena and John Rich, to join the other Men instead of the Indians. Sent 5 Gallons of Brandy, and one Days additional Provisions for the whole and gave Orders to lighten the Boats, by leaving such part of the Cargo, that could be best spared at present - Took the Netts up to day, and received a few Brants from Indians."

Sutherland arrived, without being able to procure Uplanders to come down, indeed it is wonderfull to think how he survived himself, after the unparalelled distrefs he suffered in the winter, beng obliged to eat Dogs, Mice, Leather Bretchees, Shoes & Mittens, which has reduced him from one of the most sprightly Men to a perfect Cripple, as he cannot stand upright nor walk without a stick. By Letters from Henley and Gloucester, I am informed the Men are well at both places. Provisions at the lowest Ebb. Trade at the former Place upwards of 2000 made Beaver, Henley about 1600 and that the Boats are expected to arrive here to Day having been obliged to use part of the Henley Provisions."

" Wednesday Wind SE clear weather. 2 Men brewing. the rest as before. Robt. Robinson and an Indian came down with the Henley Papers, all well there, part of the Gloucester Trade is received by Mr Favell, and 5 Canoes making a second trip, but there is little prospect of getting it all down to Henley or any part of it to Albany, there being hardly any Water in the River, which has almost rendered the Canoes unserviceable, and the fatigue of the Journey makes the Indians unwilling to afsist us further. Provisions also nearly expended and it is out of my Power to send a supply, as the last victuals I had, was this Morning served out to my Men for tomorrow, but luckily this Evening the Indians brought me in 80 lb of Fish, a few Ducks and some Plover, which will serve for Friday, by which time I hope the EastMain Sloop will arrived with a supply of Geese - In such a situation it is impofsible I can exert myself in Conducting your Affairs, as my Hands are tied for want of Provisions. I would wish to dispatch John Best to relieve Mr Favell and to send 3 new Canoes up to Henley to replace those damaged on the Gloucester Businefs in hopes of getting all the trading Goods &c up to that Settlement, but alas! such is the Condition of Albany Fort that it cannot furnish 6 or 7 Days Victuals before hand for one Man."

I am very Anxious for the arrival of the EastMain Sloop fearing some Accident has befallen her as it is now past the time of her coming, and I desired Mr Atkinson to come early the Sloop wanting repairs, and other things to be adjusted previous to the delivery of East Main to the Chief at Moose. which I had intended should take place about this time. A Northward Indian came in to trade."
